1. We Register a Real Account
We pay for a real account with our own details. No press accounts, no special reviewer access. We go through the same signup process a regular customer would — and we notice every friction point along the way.
2. We Build a Test Site
We build a standard WordPress or website builder site using the provider's tools. We evaluate how easy the setup process is, how intuitive the control panel is, and how long it takes to go from signup to a live site.
3. We Measure Speed
We run load speed tests using GTmetrix and Google PageSpeed Insights from multiple locations. Speed is tested on a fresh install and again after adding standard content, images, and plugins.
4. We Monitor Uptime
We monitor test sites for a minimum of 30 days using uptime monitoring tools. We note any downtime and how quickly the provider responds to issues.
5. We Test Support — Multiple Times
We contact support at least 3 times during our evaluation: once via chat, once via email or ticket, and once with a more complex technical question. We measure response time, accuracy, and helpfulness.
6. We Check the Real Pricing
We always document both the promotional price and the renewal price. Many providers advertise prices that triple or quadruple at renewal — we consider this in our value score.
How We Score
What We Don't Do
- We don't rank providers by commission rate
- We don't publish reviews without testing the product
- We don't omit cons to protect affiliate relationships
- We don't update scores based on provider complaints — only based on actual changes to the product
